I've seen this done poorly (honour (spelt right) and shame). Where the person really meant embarrassment. It came over in a really shallow manner. Mostly, this showed that the person really did not understand the idea. If the West was mostly driven by duty in the past, what are we today? I've heard people talk of the idea of being a victim, so my suffering outshines yours.
I have a lot to learn myself about how to parse all of these cultural dynamics. I can only refer you to Chris (happy to make the connect) and recommend a book he co-edited: https://a.co/d/ipx2NKg.
That would be great. I reached out to Richard Wright about writing something for ResQ later this year. Otumoetai Christ of Christ is having its 50th anniversary, a big deal. He suggested Chris as well. This congregation has done many great things (including starting and supporting this college), it has a great DNA- but I think I need some sort of dialogue partner or framework to unpack that. I have an interview later this month with one of the surviving members from that time.
Excellent piece. Not exaggerating when I say that this was a truly paradigm-shifting read. Thank you!

Also, I'm honoured (spelt Kiwi) by your engagement!
